Kenny Chesney is trying to "spread the love" to Boston. He's teaming up with Boston Medical Center to establish the Spread The Love Fund.
The country superstar launched the charity with what's been described as a "sizeable donation." He'll also continue to make donations through the sale of his new song "Spread The Love."
Chesney will be giving all the money from iTunes downloads of the track to the fund. The money will help pay for prosthetics and other ongoing medical and rehab treatment for victims of the April 15th Boston Marathon bombing receiving treatment at both BMC and other Boston area facilities. Additional information is available at development.bmc.org.
Chesney explains that it's "hard to imagine a world where taking your children to school, going to the movies or witnessing something as iconic as the Boston Marathon is a dangerous thing to do," so he established the fund to "help give these people as much of their lives back as possible," and to also "counteract some of the negativity in the world."
"Spread The Love" is from the singer's new album, Life on a Rock, which is in stores now.
