Gary Allan says he has enlisted the songwriter behind his latest hit "Every Storm" for his next album. The country singer tells "Taste Of Country" he got writer Hillary Lindsey on board for his next project just days after releasing Set You Free was released in January.
He says that singer Sarah Buxton will be involved as well, adding that having a female perspective in the studio helps to lighten the mood since he tends to go to a dark and moody place.
Allan jokes, "I don't really like happy songs." He adds that his next album looks like it's going to be more optimistic than his previous work, much of which came from the death of his wife eight years ago.
But for now, fans can expect more singles off Set You Free in the future.
