Shania Twain is heading back to the studio. The country star says in a Facebook post that she plans to spend a lot of the summer working on material for her next album. She adds that "a break from the stage" is allowing her to get back to writing the songs.
It's been more than a decade since Shania's last album, Up!, which arrived in late 2002. Since then she's only released three songs. Following 2005's "Shoes," which Twain recorded for the "Desperate Housewives" soundtrack, the singer was sidelined with personal and health problems.
She made her vocal return with the 2011 single "Today Is Your Day," and recorded a new version of "Endless Love" with Lionel Richie for his 2012 duets album, Tuskegee.
The singer launched her concert comeback late last year with her Las Vegas show "Shania: Still The One." Twain recently wrapped up her spring performance schedule. She'll resume her run at The Colosseum at Caesars palace on October 15th.
