CMA AWARDS: Kacey, Taylor Lead

In her first year of eligibility, Kacey Musgraves knocked it out of the park with six CMA Awards nods -- tying Taylor Swift for the most nominations this year.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton follow with five chances to pick up trophies. Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban scored four nominations apeice. Show co-host Carrie Underwood has three nominations. Notably missing from the list of potential winners is her co-host Brad Paisley.

Kacey grabbed a Female Vocalist nod and is the sole woman in the New Artist category. Her debut hit, "Merry Go Round," is up for Single and Song of the Year. Her album, Same Park Different Trailer is the freshman contender in the Album of the Year category. She's also up against herself for Song of the Year as a writer on Miranda Lambert's hit "Mama's Broken Heart."

Taylor takes her place in the Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist and Album of the Year categories for Red. She also picked up three nods for her part in Tim McGraw's "Highway Don't Care" -- for Single of the Year, Musical Event and Video of the Year.

The CMA's reigning Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year, Blake Shelton, is a contender for those two awards again this year. He's also up for Album of the Year for Based on a True Story and Vocal Event and Video of the Year for "Boys 'Round Here."

Miranda makes a showing in Female Vocalist, Single of the Year and Video of the Year for "Mama's Broken Heart." She also takes two nominations with Pistol Annies in the Musical Event and Video of the Year categories, for their appearance in the "Boys 'Roung Here" clip.

First-time nominees Florida Georgia Line follow the leaders with four chances to clinch an award -- New Artist, Group, Single and Vocal Event for their monster debut hit, "Cruise."

George Strait, who's making his last rounds on the concert circuit, re-enters the Entertainer of the Year category for the first time since 2009 -- making him the most nominated artist in CMA history with 82 nods.
