GRAMMY NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

Following an hour-long concert event hosted by LL Cool J and aired live on CBS television Friday evening, the year's Grammy nominations were announced. Katy Perry did a stripped-down version of her nominated "Roar" from a Toronto club, and Lorde did an even more minimal performance of her "Royals" on the Staples Center stage. Taylor Swift did an over the top production of "I Knew You Were Trouble" from her concert stop in Sydney, Australia, and Keith Urban teamed up with Miguel to re-interpretBill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine." All in all, an eclectic, international hour of Grammy-worthy music.

Once it was all over, the complete list of nominations was released.

Jay Z tops the honor role with nine nominations, followed by seven each for Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Pharrell Williams. Daft Punk got four (plus one for Best Engineered Album) as didTaylor Swift and young newcomer Lorde.
