A wealthy Brit is trying to give Kelly Clarkson the finger -- by buying the Jane Austen ring that she's been trying to take out of the U.K. since buying it last year.
Kel shelled out a quarter of a million bucks for the rare ring, but the British government has been trying to prevent her from taking possession, saying it's a historic artifact that should stay in the country. Now, an anonymous donor has given nearly $200,000 to the Jane Austen House museum to help that institution buy the trinket.
The U.K government has put a temporary hold on Clarkson's purchase, in hopes that the museum can raise the additional funds.
